Started tailin last night Chin (albeit for much less) ... BOL to us going forward! Just one quick question when you say your average edge over the closing line is about 3% is that including the juice?

Then for your sake I hope I start to get things going the right way again soon.

I was not including the juice when I said that. For example if I get odds of 2.06, then by closing time the odds would be 2.00 on average.

I'm going to hop on board starting today as well, so the pressure is on

Something new today. I have opened an account at The Greek. Normally I find with my wagers that earlier lines pay out better than later lines. And since greek lines come out before pinnacle, I decided to try them out. My method today was to wager to win 300 when greek lines first come up. Then wager to win another 200 after pinnacle lines come out, at whichever book is paying more. Today it turns out I would have been very slightly better off just waiting until pinnacle lines came out. I am still trying to work out what will be the best strategy for making the wagers, so feel free to offer suggestions if you want.

GL on your bets Chin. Have you considered opening a SIA account and just betting any games they move slow on? I follow someone on twitter who does this on a small to medium scale and he says Both SIA and Bodog have paid. I wouldn't do it with alot of $ because they will close your account over it LOL.

Having several options for lines can of course not be wrong.

I have active accounts at (and had no problems with) the following :
Pinnacle
Olympic
Cris
5 Dimes
Carib (hardly used)
Matchbook
Betfair (almost never used)

All of the above are respected/solid operations and, with the possible exception of Carib, will not immediately close your account if you win a few bets.

I find that in practice most (probably over 80%) of my bets still go through Pinnacle. But that occasional saving of a few pennies on some of the plays does make a difference over time.

The vig is at Pinny is lower, but not by as much as you might think. Check it out sometime.

And in the past, it seems like I almost never get a number at Pinny as good as the opener at the Greek. I will be testing that theory as I go, and obviously if it doesn't hold true then I will need to change my strategy.

There are also some practical considerations for me, like Pinny lines coming up after 6:00 p.m. routinely, when I'm eating dinner, or heading out to take the kids somewhere. My lifestyle is much more suited to the mid-afternoon early lines that greek puts up.
