OLG gift cards

Post by tshi2015 » Mon Jun 27, 2022 5:10 pm

In the last few months shoppers has had 2 sales of OLG gift cards so after a hiatus OLG is back offering them frequently if you guys want.
Also note air miles will no longer be used at Sobeys soon, so you might want to redeem them soon. I have no problem redeeming air miles for lottery at sobey.

also this week at canadian tire collect 15$ in CT money for every 100$ OLG gift cards. I find most things at CT overpriced so I don't use CT money as much.

Since Canadiantire has never had these offers before the cards are stale which means recalled gift cards are still in the piles . My first Canadiantire store transaction was for $5900 and purchase was all fine till the activation process at which point the transaction has to be voided . This is a documented issue in the points thread and basically if only one of the cards in the transaction is a recalled one the whole transaction will not work and also should note that your credit card available credit will be held hostage likey much longer then promo availability. My second Canadian tire store was similar to first experience so I called of the hunt and will maybe not get a free shed or utility trailer ☹️. Lastly the points are not instant and worded like shoppersdrugmart 2-weeks garbage . Shoppersdrugmart had a promo couple weeks ago and like allways we dunno if they pay all/ some / or none and I wonder how Canadiantire deals with us . I did not read about any maximum points per transaction etc…

Make sure the OLG cards say "0621" on the bottom left corner, otherwise they won't activate.
Cards with mag-stripe "Fastcard" are not affected. (Metro/FoodBasics have these now)

Dodged a bullet at Canadian Tire near 401/Weston Rd. They had stale "0119" cards on the rack. Luckily, I was able to import some "0621" cards from RCSS across the street.

Are you guys still buying these cards because you can continue using them in the stores for Pools and Props?

ProLine and PointSpread in stores are 10 cents less than online, due to commissions OLG has to pay the retailers, so I can't imagine you guys continue to play those games in the stores?
