Points from gas stations
Re: Points from gas stations
Shoppers 7500 for every $50 spent, racked up a few million points today, will see in 2-4 weeks what I actually get, not holding my breath that it will go smooth
Re: Points from gas stations
just wanted to check if 99 offers is the limit, or if you can go higher in a single transaction, and still get the points after an inquiry.richhhh wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 7:04 amrichhhh wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 7:02 amDude ...Some of us be taking million point loses on the norm, you be calling in for 10000 missing points on a million point transaction haha .kbet wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 1:01 pmI got mine at Loblaws and No Frills this morning. I had to jump through hoops at No Frills because there is normally a $500 limit, but finally got it approved by the store owner. No issues at Loblaws, and they didn’t even ask for ID! 1,000,000 pts. per transaction, but I have to do an inquiry to fight for 10,000 because of the 990,000 pt. limitation.
Take your points and draw no attentional attention in this scenario is my mindset here .
Are you pretty good with QR code’s ?
what QR code are you asking about? I reverse-engineered the 2d matrix code from the proline app for pools tickets.
Re: Points from gas stations
Day 2 of doing the shoppers rounds, one store $200 max and one store $300 max, because “im probably getting scammed”
Another store I handed over $1500 in $50 bills , she asked is it all there? Yep I said “good cause I don’t want to count it” and she just puts the stack in the till, lol

Re: Points from gas stations
back before COVID I used to be say I use them at casino and they'd be willing to sell me like 500$, but now that excuse won't work anymore
Re: Points from gas stations
Funny the difference between stores. I’ve had some bending over backwards to sell me what they can find. Also they must have some sort of quota for amount of sales processed through the self checkouts. I’ve noticed some stores get super excited about the large purchases and want to ring them up on the self checkouts for me, same goes for when I play a few hundred in tickets, they go over to the self checkouts and scan them there for me.
Re: Points from gas stations
Side note about shoppers, I bought a $100 Canadian tire gift card , the cashier opened up the perforated backing to scan the activation bar code. I happened to notice on the screen it said bestbuy. I pointed it out and sure enough there was a barcode sticker over the barcode on the card.
So the scam is they take bestbuy gift cards and photocopy the activation barcodes and make stickers. Then they take in this instance the sealed Canadian tire gift cards and use a razor to open them not breaking the security seal, slap their barcode sticker over the original one and glue the holder back together. Then they sit back and wait till someone activates their card. She grabbed a bunch and opened them in front of me, alot of them had been tampered with.

Re: Points from gas stations
Zoo, I've had problem with Canadian tire cards bought at Shoppers both in 2019 and 2018. Both years I bought large batches and at least 1 in each batch was empty by the time I checked them. Although in my case there were no fake barcodes but like you said they could've sliced open the paper cover and took down the barcodes. I bought them in a city 2+ hrs from Toronto and yet the Canadian tire rep told me they were used up at a Canadian tire store in Scarborough. Both times I emailed canadian tire and they mailed me new cards, but still was a headache, plus it seems justice system/police don't bother with these petty crimes which just embolden these criminals.
I am pretty wary about buying CT cards at shoppers these days, although they haven't been on sale recently so haven't had experience in 2021.

Thanks Kbet . I missed your reply until now .
I mildly looked into QR codes with the purpose of creating them for ALC . They use QR codes not 2d matrix codes like proline and when using software to decode them I was unsuccessful and my assumption was there was Encryption with lottery as that would make sense to prevent people from creating winning QR codes. Not sure maybe I am wrong there.

Re: Points from gas stations
Its always a challenge buying from shoppers .
Todays most annoying issue . After cashier scans like 7-8 cards a message pops up on screen "Fetal error ". Computer has to shut down and this take awhile to restart. At first I thought this was a one off but it happen at 2 other stores .
I also had one store photocopy my id and credit card and print duplicate receipts put this all in a binder which goes into a " secure safe" . I am certainly more at risk of fraud in this scenario. But I was assured this was " Store policy " and they can get in big trouble from corporate if they do not do this.....
I had one cashier absolutely determined scanning my card was not going to award me points and she is not supposed to scan it.I was able to eventually get the scaned after a quick pow wow with other cashiers. She believed she was right when no points were awarded. The freaking advertisement of the promotion was right beside her but she knows and doesn't need to read it.....
Its tough right now because with the summer off/potential card issues and shoppers not awarding points how many does one buy. Unload the whole bankroll? Or just enough to make it feel your not wasting a good offer? Promotion likely to come up around end of summer anyways.
Remember to share your issues. I love hearing about them
