Re: Proline sports wagering limits policy change
Sound like we are all fighting the same battles, Ricky, e.g. finding +EV plays and making $ off books. Mine (and other lads who continue to stick to ProLine only) are much smaller than yours, obviously.
I appreciate your insight as you can tell by the lack of posts in this forum after legalization. Many folks have moved on to other pastures and/or hung it up altogether.
We are now in Year 2 after legalization so there should be enough data points for discusion. Are you seeing a better Return on Investment (ROI) now compared to before with the old ProLine platform of parlays in the same Props card (and I am not talking about SGPs
and stale lines?
Do you find yourself spending way more time looking for actions now? Judging by a previous post of yours, it sounds like you are severely restricted in many online books and are constantly going through new accounts to take advantage of new sign-up bonuses and promos?
I know OLG has started to offer similar Parlays within the same Props card (again not the same as pre-built SGPs) but only for their online accounts (ProLine+). Hopefully they extend that to their regular stores for this NFL season, just like the good ol' days...

Re: Proline sports wagering limits policy change
Sorry the delay getting back to you. Was on vacation all last week
Its a grind. Thats for sure. I couldnt imagine doing proline only. Not enough plays to make it work my time. Because i am in tune with the market daily I am able to spot some value on proline player props. Over 95% of my plays are at regulated books online. I like to take advantage of credit card points/petropoints/olg gift card promos for instore proline. Just adds to the profits. I use many tools online to find value for props. Some work better than others. Yes, the big headache is the limiting. Books are limiting quicker these days. Even teqniques i have used in the past no longer provide the cover they once did. As these prop markets get more and more effecient the expected ROI will drop sadly. My NFL ROI on player props has dropped 4 straight years. NBA still very strong and I love the volume with NBA. This time of year basically just MLB for proline I am only betting a few plays a day. Some arbs to burn through gift cards and CC points + some value plays. Ex. as i type this you can bet No run first inning PIT/MYM -122 proline and Yes run first inning +140 at a PPH. Combine that arb with Gift card promos or Petro/Gift card points and you can earn some decent cash.
I have looked at some of the Proline SGP'S ( NOT THE PRE BUILT ONES) They are an absolute joke. Not even close to a fair price. And not even close to the prices offered at any of the other legals. There are ways to find value on SGP'S you have to mess around with various correlations and outcomes. A lot of the beatable SGP'S have been nuked over the last year or so. But for proline I cant see anything that would even come close to +EV for SGP'S
The battle continues..... I am headed out east for a week to vistit family next week. Will check out the proline they have there. Also headed to betbash ( betbash.co ) in Vegas August 6th to 9th. If anyone in the forum is attending betbash, hit me up. Would love to chat.

Hey Ricky thanks for your insight. I appreciate you being honest with us that it's not all peaches and cream, doing this full-time.
Since you have done this for quite a while now, perhaps it would be beneficial if you can share what resources you are using to stay in the black, pursuing this full-time. I know I wouldn't be able to do it, if I had to *depend* on this as my main (only) source of income but much respect to you, if you can pull it off...
I regularly communicate with ex Proline players on Twitter (and other platforms) and frequently sense a loss of direction, confusion, and even desperation at times from folks. I don't blame them as we got it made for us before with OLG the only book in town and PLP got everything prepped for us, with respect to Proline, PointSpread and Total so we only had to spend our time looking at different angles for Props.
Now everyone is swimming in different direction, trying to establish a solid footing or a niche in this new and unforgiving climate. You are obviously under no obligation to share your techniques because I understand it's every man for himself now and only the strong survives but you don't have to go into the specifics, I think some high-level pointers will help the fellas a great deal.
Things like what services you subscribe to and for what purposes (DarkHorse, Oddsjam, Betstamp, Unabated etc just to name a few that I have come across).
What projection services you subscribe to, for Props, and which one you think is more accurate than others, if you do go that route.
If you don't subscribe to projection services for Props and model your own numbers, what techniques are you using? Why do you think the numbers from your model is more accurate than the lines from respectable Props books like Pinnacle and/or FanDuel, understanding they may be devoting more resources to setting Props lines now as it's exploding in popularity so they don't want to get taken to the woodsheds either.
Cheers and enjoy your vacay and BetBash!

Bangminton,
You seem to have a good grasp and knowledge of the current landscape of sports betting. I think you would do really well online. I can tell just by the questions you are asking!
I would really like to be helpful, but I don't want to give away too much in a public forum. I'm sure you can understand.
The grind is getting tougher, that's for sure. As I mentioned, my NFL ROI on player props has dwindled for four straight years. The market efficiency I have seen on NFL player props the past couple of years has got me thinking... I do some top-down betting on major markets, sides and totals. I am really going to look at using this approach for NFL props this year, especially closer to game day. We'll see how it goes.
As for MLB and NBA, I use various trusted projection sources, blend them to come up with my numbers, and then run simulations to determine a fair price. ETR for NBA and NFL, and The BAT for baseball, are heavily weighted in my blends.
I use many tools—too many probably! Unabated, Oddsjam, ODDS-API, Betstamp, and various DFS projection subscriptions, etc.
NBA is very time-consuming. Injury info is the key to success, as you all probably already know. But it's by far the most profitable just due to the volume of plays I make every day.
The key is accounts. Accounts are always getting limited. P2, P3, P4, etc. is key.
You can follow me on Betstamp if you want: https://betstamp.app/u/PROP_CRUSHER . I haven't posted much in the last month; honestly, I've just been too lazy, haha. I usually post most of my NBA stuff with the exception of ALT lines, which Betstamp doesn't have. I have tracked over 6500 plays since I started using Betstamp 20 months ago.
Tshi,
I am flying out on Tuesday. I plan on checking out the Proline out there. Not expecting much. From what my cousin tells me, they are slow to move. We'll see.
All the best guys, Hopefully we can find some good edges when NBA, NFL, and NHL comes back

Hey Ricky, I know where you are coming from! Truthfully, what we are discussing here is not much different than what the fellas are discussing on Betstamp and Unabated Discord channels but I get where you are coming from, sometimes the less things are said publicly, the better.
If you guys know of new techniques to generate points, preferably risk-free, please do let us know, as the 3x Petro promo has been extended until October 2nd. I had a real good run for that with the baseball players not in the lineup angle but all good things must come to an end. OLG has been super quick at removing those players and with the $100/outcome/store, there is simply no time to drive around to different stores to get a good chunk down.

Ya, that $100 limit makes it tough. I see lots of arbs/low holds on proline daily for TB, K's, nrfi. But you need sportsbooks to bet the other side. I usually just take the +EV side and roll with it. But if you are looking to build petro/credit card/gift cards points this could be a way. Again, the $100 limit really sucks for this. I have a couple of stores that will do more than $100. But im sure that will come to an end soon enough. As i have already lost my main outs closest to my home.

Yeah I don't have much interest in arbs/hedges or anything of that nature, Ricky, because that requires time and commitment, which I don't have at this point.
My method of madness before has always been putting down thousands at Petro stations in a couple of minutes (before they implemented the $100/limit) and simply moved on with other priorities. Generating and collecting points, risk-free, are not supposed to take a lot of our time. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.
I still see some possible angles to do so even in this new environment but will need to take some time to re-assess the situation
1. Going around different stores to play NFL Players who have been confirmed to be injured and won't play in their respective games.
2. Going around different stores to play matches that have been cancelled for less well-known sports like tennis
3. Checking other less well-known sports and go to town on +EV plays that have extremely high probability of cashing in e.g. USA Basketball team in the Olympics. This is certainly not risk-free by any means but taking a calculated risks can result in a significant amount of points.

Re: Proline sports wagering limits policy change
right now it's tough landscape with gift cards too. OLG and other gift cards used to go on promo a lot of often. I remember Canadian Tire gift cards used to go on 20% off around Christmas and I used to buy stacks and stacks from Shopper Drug. But that hasn't happened in a few years now.
